| Age | Not exceeding 35 years Note 1 Relaxable for Government servant upto 5 years in accordance with the instructions or orders issued by the Central Government. Note 2 The crucial date for determining the age-limit shall be the closing date for receipt of applications from candidates in India. |
| Essential Qualificaiton (s) | A. EDUCATIONAL (i) A qualification included in Part I or Part II of Schedule to the Dentist’s Act, 1948 (Act 16 of 1948) (ii) Should be registered with a Dental Council.Note I Qualifications are relaxable at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission in case of candidates otherwise well qualified. |

(ii) The candidate selected will, if so required shall be liable to serve in any Defence service or post connected with the Defence of India, for a period not less than four years including the period spent in training, if any Provided that such officer shall not (a) be required to serve as aforesaid after the expiry of ten years from the date of appointment or from the date of joining the service, (b) Ordinarily be required to serve as aforesaid after attaining the age of 45 years. |

Note II The qualification (s) regarding experience is/are relaxable at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission in the case of candidates belonging to Scheduled castes or Scheduled Tribes if at any stage of selection the Union Public Service Commission is of the opinion that sufficient number of candidates from these communities possessing the requisite experience are not likely to be available to fill the vacancies reserved for them. |

(iii) Should be registered with a Dental Council.B. EXPERIENCE 3 years’ teaching experience in the speciality as Tutor/ Demonstrator/Registrar/ Senior Resident /Lecturer after requisite Post Graduate qualification.Note I Qualifications are relaxable at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission in case of candidates otherwise well qualified. Note II The qualification (s) regarding experience is/are relaxable at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission in the case of candidates belonging to Scheduled castes or Scheduled Tribes if at any stage of selection the Union Public Service Commission is of the opinion that sufficient number of candidates from these communities possessing the requisite experience are not likely to be available to fill the vacancies reserved for them. |
