An Extensive In-depth Review of Services of “Revive Old Post Plugin” after using it extensively for few months. Please note that this is not an affiliate post. It’s a post that we chose to write as thanks to the amazing service provided by “Revive Old Post Plugin”. This is purely a user based review.
We are a locally based Health & Social Awareness group and we have been working for last 8 years. We started our website around 7 years back. We use our website to connect with our audience & volunteers. The website is essential for us as we use it to create the network of people who are willing to work together for spreading Free Health Awareness Camps to remote areas.
The Story of Social Media and
the Utility of Revive Old Post Plugin
(1st Phase – The Great Friend Ship with Social Media)
Ours is a WordPress based site. When we started our website in 2010, social media was going through a boom. We were especially very active on Facebook. We actually joined and started a Facebook page in 2011. Before that period we used to get low to moderate amount of traffic at our site. But it was not enough. Also, it was not easy to break into top results Google search. So we were always wondering how to increase the interaction and traffic at our site.
Then we joined and opened a Facebook Page. It was like a dream come true.
There were many good articles at our website that were going unnoticed. But when we shared those articles on our facebook page, we started getting very good traffic. People started sharing and interacting with our articles.
We saw a rapid growth in our page likes and also the steady increase in website traffic.
And soon it was like a jet with Nitro Booster. We were amazed to see this increase in traffic and very happy to see the social interaction that our page was generating from our social media members.
This motivated us to work harder and produce more good quality contents. This whole interaction between the social media (Facebook) and our website was like two dancers in perfect sync and creating amazing choreography.
From Jan 2011 till almost Jan 2014 we kept seeing this amazing rise – both in our website traffic and social media interactions. In this period of 3 years, our website had already gained a lot of traction and connecting with a lot of readers/volunteers. Because of that, we were able to start our free health awareness programs. Also seeing the traffic at our website and popularity of our social media page many private companies came forward as sponsor/promoter. This further enhanced our efficiency to conduct more programs and also to expand the resources of our website. For example from a cheap shared hosting, we could now afford a better hosting.
(2nd Phase – The Phase of Limited Friendship)
And then came the most discussed algorithm change in Facebook and soon followed by Twitter.
Websites and Social Media Platforms were no more like two dancers in sync. This change in algorithm has now made one of the friends much more in control than the other. A friendship that started on equal footing where both needed each other- suddenly changed in the equation. How ?
The changes in the algorithm of facebook/twitter (which they say was done to improve the quality of the contents and also to optimize the news feed of users) resulted in a massive decrease in Organic Reach. As a result, any post shared in a page was now reaching a very limited number of page fans. Out of 100, it was reaching around 5.
In order to reach more audience, say 50 out of your 100 Fans, you would need to Purchase Promoted Post by shelling some dollars. The more you pay, the more number of your existing fans will see your posts in their news feed.
This is like an Arm Wrestling Match between your Website and The Social Media Platforms. Social Media platforms are trying to control your reach and you need to pay them to reach more people.

Many corporates & well-doing bloggers/websites have adjusted to this changed scenario by buying promoted ads at Facebook & Twitter. Simply because they can afford to.
But we are among those group of bloggers who do not make millions of profit from their blog. So we simply do not have that much money to spend thousands regularly to buy Ads so that we could reach more of our fans.
In such a scenario, the only other freeway we have is to keep sharing our contents in all our social media profile multiple times every day.
But this is again easier said than done.
For example, consider this scenario – we have 5 separate social media profiles. To maintain a constant connect with our readers and to reach more members (to counter reducing organic reach) we need to post at least 20 times in each Social Media Platform every day.
And all this was getting very tough for us to plan & manage. We were working hard to create new contents and trying to share those in social media. But at the same time, we were realizing that many evergreen contents are just not getting enough traction. We tried manually sharing them, but after some time manually sharing them in each of our social media platforms was getting very hectic and time-consuming.
We were looking for a Tool that can help us to do the following:
- Automate the task of Sharing of Posts (both old & recent) into all our social media profiles. That will save us a lot of time and reduce a lot of work for us.
- A tool that will help us to increase our social media presence by sending out more number of updates.
-
A tool that will help us to tackle the decreasing organic reach of social media platforms.
And we were finally able to find such a tool for our WordPress Site

One of the best features I like in the General Settings is the ability to track the links using Google Analytics or Short Links.
This gives you clear stats to have an idea about your posts in social media. But this is just the tip of the iceberg. Once you start using Revive Old Post Plugin Pro – you will find some real gem features. We will show the other features at the end of this review. Continue with the screencasts to see the most important feature “Automated Post Scheduling”
Step 4 – Automated Scheduling of Your Posts
(The Hero Feature of Revive Old Post Plugin Pro)
This the game-changing feature of Revive Old Post Plugin.
Revive Old Post Plugin gives you two types of options to schedule your old posts.
First Way – Choose a particular Time Interval, say for example 1 hour, and your posts will be shared at an interval of every one hour, in your social media profiles that you have linked with Revive Old Post.
Second Way – (Custom Schedule) In the point before, sharing of your old posts take place automatically at every particular duration that you have specified (for example say 1 hour).
But in the second way you have the option to custom schedule your posting by choosing the exact time within 24 hours duration. You will also have the option to choose if the custom schedule you created will share every day from Sunday to Monday or just on any particular day/days only.
So you see as the name suggests, it’s complete “CUSTOM” scheduling of the posts.
The screencast below will make it much clearer for you.
